The Benefits of Liquidating Bridal Gown Inventory - Part 1

For bridal boutiques and bridal gown designers, managing inventory is key to success. Holding onto discontinued styles or slow-moving wedding gowns can take up valuable space and tie up capital. Liquidating these dresses is a smart strategy to clear inventory efficiently while maximizing profitability. This is part one of our four-part series on the benefits of liquidating bridal gown inventory.

Free Up Valuable Space

Wedding gowns take up significant space on your showroom floor, in your stock room, or in your warehouse. On a showroom floor it’s estimated that 20 to 40 gowns fit on a 10 foot run of rack space. This, of course, depends on how the bridal gowns are displayed (bagged? or unbagged?), the silhouette, and the aesthetic of your boutique. With the average bridal shop holding around 200 dresses in inventory, if just 10% of the dresses are discontinued or slow moving styles, that’s a full 10 feet of rack space that isn’t producing revenue. By liquidating these styles, you create space for new collections, seasonal trends, fresh designs that attract more brides and create more revenue for your business.
